RICHARD STARR

Richard Dean Starr is an author, marketing expert, and copywriter. He attended Loras College and the University of Iowa, studying English and Psychology.

As an entrepreneur for the past twenty-five years, Richard has developed his varied business skills under real-world conditions and put them to practical, everyday use. He now brings that expertise to his work with The VA Firm™, utilizing his extensive experience to help clients achieve their daily, weekly, monthly, and annual business goals.

In addition to his work as an entrepreneur and Virtual Assistant (which he refers to as his “day jobs”), Richard is also a part-time author, screenwriter, and editor. Over the past thirty years, he has written or edited more than 200 articles, columns, stories, books, comics, screenplays, and graphic novels.

His original fiction and non-fiction has appeared in magazines and newspapers as varied as Cemetery Dance, Science Fiction Chronicle, The Southeast Georgian, The Camden County Tribune, Suspense Magazine, and Starlog, among others. His licensed media tie-in stories have appeared in anthologies including Hellboy: Odder Jobs, Kolchak: The Night Stalker Casebook, Tales of Zorro, and The Lone

Ranger Chronicles, just to name a few. In addition, Starr co-authored the first Kolchak: The Night Stalker / Dan Shamble: Zombie P.I. team up comic book with New York Times bestselling author Kevin J. Anderson.

As an industry-leading script consultant, Starr has consulted on, written, or “doctored” more than twenty-one produced feature films starring such acclaimed actors as Malcolm McDowell, Tom Sizemore, Amber Tamblyn, Haley Joel Osment, Costas Mandylor, Robert Culp, Richmond Arquette, and Zack Galifianakis.
